Canary Wharf College music tour, March 2024

In March 2024, students from Canary Wharf College embarked on a music tour in the beautiful region of Normandy, France. This four-day trip combined cultural exploration with meaningful musical experiences, making it a rewarding journey for all involved.

Day 1: Arrival in Normandy

The trip began on the 18th of March with a ferry crossing from Dover to Calais. After arriving in Normandy, the group settled into their accommodation in Lisieux, where they were welcomed and introduced to their surroundings.

Day 2: Exploring the Zoo and Performing at the Basilica

On the 19th of March, the students visited the Zoo de Cerza, where they enjoyed exploring the diverse wildlife. In the afternoon, they performed during Mass at the Basilica of Saint Thérèse in Lisieux. This experience was a significant highlight, allowing the students to share their music in a meaningful setting.

Day 3: Discovering Deauville and Rehearsals

The 20th of March included a visit to the seaside town of Deauville, known for its elegant beaches and shops. Later, the students rehearsed at the Lisieux Conservatoire, preparing for an evening concert with local musicians, which was well received.

Day 4: A Visit to Honfleur and Return Home

On the final day, the group visited the picturesque port town of Honfleur. After exploring its charming streets, they began their journey back to London, reflecting on the cultural and musical experiences they had enjoyed in Normandy.
