Harrogate Ladies College music tour, March 2024
In March 2024, students from Harrogate Ladies’ College spent five enriching days in Normandy, where they balanced cultural exploration with opportunities to connect with local French students through music.
Musical Collaboration in Lisieux
A significant part of the trip was spent at the Lisieux Conservatoire, where the students rehearsed and performed alongside French musicians. This collaboration culminated in a performance at College Marcel Gambier, allowing students to connect through their shared love of music.
Exploring Normandy’s Treasures
The students also had the chance to explore some of Normandy’s most iconic sites. They visited local markets, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, and the charming town of Honfleur where they performed alongside the Honfleur Harmonie concert band. Not forgetting a lovely performance at Chateau de Crevecoeur to the local primary school children. These excursions provided a deeper understanding of the region’s history and culture, complementing the friendships formed during their stay.
