Drake Primary School and ècole Bon Pasteur (Lisieux), July 2024

From the 1st to the 5th of July 2025, the students from Drake Primary School set off on an exciting trip to Lisieux, France. The week was packed with fun activities, new experiences, and plenty of chances to make friends with local French children.

A Day at École Bonne Pasteur
One of the highlights of the trip was a day spent at École Bonne Pasteur, where the students got to hang out with French Year 6 pupils. They had a blast playing a mix of games—everything from the classic egg and spoon race to the French playground favorite, ballon prisonnier (a fun twist on dodgeball!). It didn’t take long for everyone to get to know each other and make new friends while having a great time.

Exploring Normandy’s Best Spots
The rest of the week was full of adventures! The group headed to Festyland, Normandy’s Viking-themed amusement park, where they had a day of thrills on rides and attractions. Later, they spent an afternoon up in the treetops at Orne Aventure, tackling high ropes courses and zip lines. And let’s not forget their visit to the beautiful Basilica of Saint Thérèse, where they climbed up to the dome for an amazing view of Lisieux.

By the end of the trip, the students had not only explored some of the best spots in Normandy but also made some great memories with their new French friends. It was a week full of fun, learning, and friendship!
