Hall School tour, 6th-10th Feb 2025
We greatly enjoyed welcoming the choir and orchestra from Hall School to us in February. Their tour centred on two big collaborations, firstly with the Ecole de Musique d’Orbec, in which we combined the visiting young musicians with a school orchestra in the town where the accommodation centre is based. Rehearsals took place in the afternoon to build towards an evening concert. The hall was packed to the brim, and everyone received a standing ovation at the end! Secondly, a similar sort of project in Honfleur, but this time with the Ecole de Musique ‘Erik Satie’ d’Honfleur. A range of musicians young and old had learnt their orchestral parts in advance, and we created an ‘Orchestre Geant’ to perform in the beautiful Greniers a Sel, again finishing with a standing ovation! A schools performance at Pont L’Eveque, a Jazz Night in Orbec, alongside visits of the Basilica Saint Therese in Lisieux and the D-Day Landing beaches with the 360 cinema at Arromanches completed their absolutely packed tour programme. Bravo to all the students for their performances, this tour had a wonderful impact on our region.
Our concert tour was an unforgettable experience! The perfect balance of music, culture, and fun, it gave our students the opportunity to collaborate with French musicians, perform in fantastic venues to wonderful audiences, and even practise their French along the way. The itinerary blended inspiring cultural visits with exciting activities, and we were exceptionally well looked after with lovely food and accommodation. A truly enriching tour that our students will remember for years to come!
Luisa Rosina, Director of Music, Hall School
Dear Luisa
We wanted to say thank you for arranging a fabulous music tour to Normandy for the boys. We were so impressed with the cross-curricular itinerary that combined music, history, art, language, and cultural exchange. The boys are lucky to have had such a brilliant experience and will have great memories of the trip.

Dear Luisa
Having just witnessed the joy and excitement from the magical French Music Tour, we are truly impressed by the program’s ability to ignite such enthusiasm. I want to extend a huge THANK YOU for the French Music Tour. Watching from the sidelines through the photos and videos was awe-inspiring. The level of coordination and effort that went into it—from organizing concert materials and collaborating with other schools to managing transportation, activities, and even meals—was remarkable.
