Chateau Kinnor
Nestled in the beautiful countryside village of Fervaques in the valleys of the Pays d’Auge, Château le Kinnor has been welcoming school groups for over forty years, and is certified by EN (Education National). The domain comprises the following:
- 11 separate buildings within a secure gated perimeter
- Sleeping for 100, divided amongst four separate buildings which can all be kept private
- 3 large teaching/rehearsal rooms, one of which has an excellent grand piano ideal for concerts
- A theatre, complete with stage, lighting, AV equipment, seating for 100, and the possibility for video
projections (movie nights, presentations etc) - A beautiful vaulted dining room for all meals
- Vast outside areas with lawns, a tennis court, football pitch and netball court
The pretty village of Fervaques is connected to the chateau, and has a grocery store, pharmacy, doctors surgery, and a few other shops, cafes and a restaurant.
Domaine de Soignolles
The accommodation centre Domaine de Soignolles is a large domain set in the Pays d’Auge countryside to the South West of Lisieux. Originally a farm, the whole property underwent a total renovation in 2012 to create a stunning accommodation centre and venue. Frequently used for weddings, the setting is peaceful and truly beautifully maintained, with large gardens and lots of space and facilities for students to enjoy. The domain comprises the following:
- Ten en-suite bedrooms in the main house, sleeping a max of 46
- A beautiful ‘mini village’ of 5 luxury wooden chalets, each en-suite with toilet/washhand basin and central heating for year-round use, sleeping a max of 22.
- Adjacent to the chalets, a large flat lawn area is also available for camping for large numbers. Tents and bedding provided.
- A brand new shower complex services the outdoor areas, fully heated with new fittings and wheelchair access.
- A large hall with a high vaulted ceiling, over 200m2 in size, ideal for concerts and rehearsals.
- A very large covered courtyard area (500m2) overlooking the front gardens which is absolutely perfect for open-air rehearsals and performances in the summer months.
- A football pitch, volley ball court, basketball court, table tennis area, and boules pitches.
- A locked-away ‘well-being’ area with sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, available for hire by adults.
A quirky addition just down the road from the domain is the ancient Eglise de Soignolles, which according to local legend was ordered to be built by William The Conqueror. This small medieval chapel can be used to host performances during the summer months.
Domaine des Hellandes
Located across the Seine estuary, via the magnificent Pont de Normandie, Domaine des Hellandes is a huge accommodation centre in a beautiful countryside setting. Easy access to Honfleur and Rouen means we can build an exciting tour programme based around these two stunning destinations, along with concerts and partnerships around Lisieux. The nearby “Parc Naturel Régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande” offers a range of exciting outdoor activities too.
Domaine des Hellandes features the following:
- Accommodation in “Le Château” – 16 bedrooms, sleeping up to 76 people on the first and second floors, with 4 large function rooms on the ground floor for rehearsals and relaxing.
- Accommodation in “Le Pressoir” – 42 bedrooms, sleeping up to 176 people, with a large restaurant and two other function rooms.
- Lots of space for outdoor games, a sports hall, and the possibility to organise activities.
- The option to add on the hire of “La Salle Polyvalente”, a very large multi-use hall for up to 200 people, suitable for large ensemble rehearsals.
Hermitage Saint Therese
Hermitage Saint Therese is situated in central Lisieux, next to the breath-taking Basilica of Saint Therese. A warm welcome awaits at this lovely centre, which features the following:
- 92 en-suite bedrooms, providing accommodation for up to 190 people almost entirely in twins.
- An additional 50 bedrooms, with 2-4 people per bedroom, at the nearby Foyer Louis et Zelie Martin, for up to 113 people.
- A range of different size teaching rooms.
- A beautiful Chapel (Notre-Dame du Sourire) which can also be used for activities.
- Various outside areas for outdoor games, and easy access to the public gardens of Lisieux.
HI Rouen
Located in the centre of the historic town of Rouen, the historical capital city of Normandy. Renowned for its medieval cobbled streets and antique shops, this is a cultured city with many museums and churches. The hostel is located in the city’s old Auvray dyeworks factory, which dates back to 1780, and provides accommodation in rooms of 2 – 6 beds. ‘HI Rouen’ provides a good starting point to explore everything Rouen has to offer. Stroll around the old city streets and discover the outstanding architectural heritage; visit the many parks and gardens, including the Botanical Gardens which are free to enter and open all year; or simply take a walk along the river Robec which runs right next to the hostel.
HI Rouen features the following:
- Sleeping for up to 88, spread over 25 bedrooms of 2-6 per room.
- A meeting room for 40 people, and a hall for 80 people.
- Convenient access to central Rouen and all the sights and activities this city has to offer.
Maison Saint Georges
Situated to the Southeast of Lisieux, this accommodation facility is built within the grounds of a large private school. The group accommodation centre Maison Saint Georges is part of the Institut Notre Dame at Orbec. The centre comprises the following:
- Sleeping for 96, spread over 37 en-suite bedrooms with 2-4 per bedroom
- Exclusive use, only one group at a time stay here.
- bedrooms are wheelchair-friendly
- Games room, with table football
- Communal room, with kitchenette and large TV
- Two football pitches and netball pitches
- Meeting rooms and classrooms
Maison Saint Georges is situated within the centre of the town of Orbec, which has all modern conveniences, supermarket, doctors surgery etc. Next door to the accommodation is the Salle Debussy, a converted church which is used as an art exhibition space and concert venue, which we can arrange for visiting groups to use during their stay if required. There is also a nice old hall within the school, Salle Founier, which is ideal for disco evenings!
