School Partnership Tours

We can help to link your school with a French school, with the simple concept of pen-pal letters during the year to build towards a French trip when your group will spend one or two mornings at the French school. The students will therefore get to meet their pen-pal, and we establish direct contact between the English teachers and French teachers to plan to the content of the morning together.

The usual sort of structure is an initial Welcome session in the school hall or canteen (some schools have really gone to town with welcoming the students with croissants, hot chocolate and juice!). Some time then for the students to divide into mixed French/English groups to visit the school. Then usually we will move onto the regular timetabled lessons, with the English students attending maths/geography etc with their pen-pals. There is often a timetabled sports lesson when we can involve all the students together. This leads towards canteen lunch, which is always four courses, starter/main/cheese/dessert!

We have left it completely open how you plan the sessions however, as there are many different directions that the partnership can take. With large visiting groups we often make the school session a full day, and use our coaches to take half the English and French students and teachers off-site to do an activity together (museum, castle, or similar) whilst the other half stay on-site, then in the afternoon the groups swap over.

We are proud to have the support of the Département de Calvados for this enriching initiative. This has helped us to develop an ever-expanding list of French schools for the project, most now contact us via word-of-mouth to ask us to find them a UK school!
